Citrulline
Overview
Citrulline is a non-protein amino acid found in foods such as watermelon and involved in arginine-related metabolic pathways. In the BRAIN Diet framework, citrulline is interpreted as a network-support substrate: it contributes to arginine and nitric-oxide signaling context, and links with creatine-pathway biology when considered alongside other amino-acid precursors.
