Neuroeshot (Roe, Lemon, Hot Sauce)
Overview
A quick savory shot built from roe, lemon, and fermented hot sauce. It is designed as a small-dose format for phospholipid omega-3s and choline from roe, with acid and heat for palatability.
Ingredients (1 serving)
- 15 g (1 tbsp) salmon roe (or trout roe)
- 7.5 ml (1 1/2 tsp) lemon juice
- 0.6-1.2 ml (1-2 dashes) fermented hot sauce (Tabasco-style)
Method
- Add roe to a small shot glass or spoon.
- Top with lemon juice.
- Add 1-2 dashes of fermented hot sauce.
- Serve immediately.
Extra Guidance
- Trout roe is a direct swap at the same amount if preferred.
- Keep portions small; this is a concentrated garnish-style shot, not a full meal.
- Use chilled roe and serve immediately after mixing.
Brain Health Notes
- Roe contributes EPA/DHA and choline in a compact serving.
- Lemon juice and hot sauce improve palatability and can make small roe portions easier to include consistently.

Biological Target Matrix
BRS-X(ECS) - Endocannabinoid System
| Substance | Contribution Level | Foods | Mechanism of Action |
|---|---|---|---|
| Choline | Contextual / minor contributor | Precursor for phosphatidylcholine (PC) synthesis; PE can be converted into PC or N-acyl phosphatidylethanolamines (NAPEs); NAPEs are precursors to N-acyl ethanolamines (NAEs) like palmitoylethanolamide (PEA), oleoylethanolamide (OEA), and anandamide (AEA), bioactive lipids which act as neuromodulators with anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, and mood-regulating effects | |
| DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) | Contextual / minor contributor | Production of docosahexaenoyl ethanolamide (DHEA), an N-acyl ethanolamine for endocannabinoid-like signaling | |
| EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) | Contextual / minor contributor | Production of eicosapentaenoyl ethanolamide (EPEA), an N-acyl ethanolamine for endocannabinoid-like signaling | |
| Omega-3 Fatty Acids | Contextual / minor contributor | Production of docosahexaenoyl ethanolamide (DHEA) and eicosapentaenoyl ethanolamide (EPEA), N-acyl ethanolamines for endocannabinoid-like signaling |
BRS-X(Hormones) - Hormone Signalling & Regulation
| Substance | Contribution Level | Foods | Mechanism of Action |
|---|---|---|---|
| Omega-3 Fatty Acids | Contextual / minor contributor | Support hormonal balance through membrane integrity and anti-inflammatory effects |
